POP or gypsum board?
POP ceilings are made on site from plaster of Paris over a metal frame and are good for curved and detailed designs. Gypsum board ceilings use factory-made boards screwed to a frame; they are cleaner and faster to install and give a smooth flat finish. Both are painted at the end.
Ceiling and POP work we do
- Living and bedroom ceilings. Peripheral (border) ceilings with cove or profile lights.
- Full flat ceilings. For offices and rooms with ducting or wiring to hide.
- Cornices and mouldings. Decorative edges where ceiling meets wall.
- Wall POP. Levelling of uneven walls before paint.
- Grid ceilings. For offices and commercial spaces.
Plan these before the ceiling
- Ceiling height. Dwarka flats often have modest ceiling heights; a border ceiling may suit better than a full drop.
- Lights. Number and position of lights and profile strips.
- AC and fan. Split AC pipe routes and fan hooks with proper support.
- Curtain pelmet. If curtains are to hang from the ceiling, add a pelmet.
What affects ceiling cost
Area, design (straight border vs layered or curved), material (POP or gypsum), number of light cutouts and cove lines, and painting.

Frequently asked questions
Which is better, POP or gypsum?
POP suits detailed designs; gypsum board is cleaner and faster for flat ceilings. We suggest based on design and budget.
Will a false ceiling reduce room height?
Yes, by the drop depth. A border ceiling keeps most of the original height in the centre.
Can lights be added later?
It is much easier to plan lights before the ceiling is closed.
How is false ceiling priced?
By area and design complexity, plus light cutouts and painting.
